This Friday, May 2nd, don’t miss our dude Tone Ra supporting Sweater Beats at Middle East Upstairs in Central Square Cambridge, MA. The last time Sweaters came to Boston he absolutely killed shit and we don’t doubt he’ll do the same this time around. Not to mention, Tone Ra has been releasing some absolute heat lately. Being featured on PLAYITLOUDER’s most recent compilation, ‘Play It Louder Vol. 2,’ as well as on our very own, ‘Lifted Cuts Vol. 2.’
Tickets are going fast for this one so don’t sleep. Shouts to CRUSH Boston for putting this on.

We apologize for being absent for some time now. Been working on revamping the site while also making moves as a collective. But no excuses.
Check this new tune from ROBOKID that dropped two days ago titled, ‘RIP OG BOBBY JOHNSON.’ This is nothing short of that future bounce that RK has been providing with hints of Jersey Club and dreamy samples. Enjoy this cloud driven gem and be sure to grab it is free download right now.
Alien bounce from the homie Tide Eye of the Zone Def Collective. Happy to see fresh beats from this camp, they got some serious heat coming out soon. Keep it locked.
Killer remix from our homie Tone Ra of Begbick’s ‘Pussy Wet Anthem.’ This shit bangs.
We are pleased to announce another addition to our squad, Boston based Hip Hop producer, Lightfoot! After starting to produce in the early years of Junior High, LF became highly influenced by the gritty sounds of MF DOOM and Atmosphere. He then moved on to create his very own sound of true hip hop, that real boom bap that has that crisp and fresh sound. Soon he progressed out of grade school and into UMASS Amherst, where he then left to pursue producing full time and learn under the teachings of The Arcitype at The Bridge Sound and Stage Studio.
Today Lightfoot is one half of Hip Hop duo, Remains, that continues to put out fresh releases seen and heard by many. He has a truly stacked week of shows coming up, including Boston’s Next Music Producer Showcase at the Middle East on Tuesday (3/18), HNDMD Presents at Middlesex Lounge on Wednesday (3/19) and supporting Madlib at the Middle East Downstairs on Friday (3/21)!
There is so much more to come from this homie, but today we provide two exclusive Lifted Contingency tracks he has provided for the announcement. Hip Hop heads rejoice.
///WARNING: MAY CAUSE SERIOUS HEAD NODDING\\\
I was recently sent the newest release from Shimmy Records, which was in the form of the ‘Vanity’ EP constructed by Entheogenesis. It comes fully stocked with four tracks and two remixes, leaving you more than satisfied but eager for more. Your mind will open with the vibey bass heavy sounds in the beginning, then move into a bit of a two step feeling as it progresses and then finish with a more dance centered bop.
This is the fourth release to date for the UK based label and sure to not be their last. ‘Vanity’ literally came out a few hours ago so go to their BandCamp now and get your copy. This is that true nunu, enjoi.
Our homies at HNDMD Records have another fire release, this one in the form of a remix EP of Twistyknobs’ track ‘Abject,’ that first appeared on our compilation, LIFTED CUTS VOL. I in January. This single has gotten so much hype and love since it came out on the comp that 13 extremely talented producers created their own version and packaged it for HM09. Some of the artists involved include; Pleasure Curses, Nick Garcia, Ghost Club, The Crateful Head, INSPEKTAH, Alt-Ok and even our very own Tone Ra.
HM09 is now available on HNDMD’s bandcamp as a ‘NAME YOUR PRICE’ bargain. Get this dope shit here.
Stumbled upon Makadeli from our homie Canteen Killa. Funny the power a repost on SoundCloud has. This track is in a category of its own, can’t really nail down exactly what genre to put on it so we won’t. It makes you move. That’s the point.
These two bastards after my own heart, I loved Kim way back, but not the new plastic version. The homies AO beats and Brad Ford did this shit justice as it starts out sounding like R&B from 2003. No worries though, this is not dated, the bass drops and you get all types of feels. This shit takes us back but has that brand new flavor. Go grab this.
An epic ending to a bummer of a story… Go Yama has overcome a burglery and a stolen laptop only to bring the homie Mike Gao to Boston at another epic EMB. Not only was the homie Gao playing shows and hanging out; Being the motivated fellows they are, Yama and Gao found time to collab over the relatively short visit. Magic was made…
